Default Empty Response

The Default Empty Response setting defines what Scribe inserts when a detail wasn’t discussed during the visit. It applies to both Simple and Structured notes.

How It Works

• If a field has no information, Scribe inserts the Default Empty Response text
• Common choices: N/A, Not discussed, None reported, Omitted
• You can change the value per note at any time

Where To Set It

• Settings → Scribe → Default empty response

Examples in Notes

• Simple note: “Allergies: Not discussed”
• Structured note: AI field “Medical History Update” → “No changes”

Structured notes: You can set a per‑field default inside each AI field. This overrides the global Default Empty Response for that field. For example, set “None reported” for Medications but “Not discussed” for Tobacco.
