Structured Notes: AI Hints

AI hints (or Descriptions) are short micro-prompts attached to an AI field. They tell the AI what to include and how to format the output for that specific field.

When To Use

• To steer format: specify bullets vs. sentences, length limits, headings
• To set tone: plain language vs. clinical phrasing, patient-friendly vs. chart shorthand
• To control details: what to include or exclude, level of granularity

How To Add AI Hint

• Add or select an AI field in your structured template
• Open the field settings panel
• Fill the Description box with a concise instruction

Practical Examples

• Format preference: “Summarize in short bullet points.”
• Format preference: “One sentence in plain language. Max 25 words.”
• Content hint: “Include anesthesia type, dose, and lot number if mentioned. Exclude vitals.”
• Content hint: “List only new meds changed today. Do not restate existing medications.”
• Compliance hint: “Include full provider name and date in format mm-dd-yyyy.”

Missing something in the generated note? Adjust the AI hint for that field and regenerate the section. Specific tweaks to the hint usually resolve omissions or formatting issues.
