Denti.AI Microphone questions
What devices does it work with?
Computers, tablets, and smartphones with a USB-C port. The receiver plugs in and works as an external digital microphone.
Do I need an app or driver?
No. It's plug-and-play: connect the receiver, turn on the microphone, and start recording.
Does it have noise reduction?
Yes. The microphone has a denoise function that reduces background noise. For best results, keep it close to the speaker's mouth.
What's the realistic range?
Up to 656 ft (200 m) in open, line-of-sight conditions. Indoors, walls, people, and interference shorten that, so treat it as a best case.
How long does the battery last?
Each microphone runs up to 5 hours per charge. With the charging case recharging between sessions, total use reaches up to 15 hours.
How long does charging take?
About 2 hours for the microphones and about 2 hours for the case (longer if fully drained).
Does it turn off automatically?
Yes. It powers off after 60 minutes if it isn't paired or connected.
Can I mute the microphone?
Yes. Use the mute button to turn the sound off without disconnecting.
How close should it be to the speaker?
Clip it about 6–10 in (15–25 cm) from the speaker's mouth for the clearest voice.

Hollyland Lark M2 setup
What's in the box
- Charging case
- 2 microphones
- 1 receiver
- USB-C to USB adapter
Note: The USB-C to USB adapter ships in a separate package from your microphones.
Step 1: Connect the receiver
- Connect the Hollyland receiver to the USB-C to USB adapter.
- Plug the other end of the adapter into a USB port on your computer.
- Place both microphones in their charging pods before you start pairing.
Heads up: there are a few versions of this microphone. Some Hollyland Lark M2 kits use a USB-C to USB-C receiver. Use the adapter included by Denti.AI to connect this version too. The setup steps are the same.
Step 2: Pair your microphones
- With the receiver connected, hold the yellow button on the receiver until “TX1” and “TX2” blink blue.
- Pair the microphones one at a time.
- Take one microphone out of its charging pod and hold its yellow button until both the microphone and the receiver show a solid blue light. This takes about 5–10 seconds.
- Return that microphone to its pod and repeat with the second microphone.
You're paired when the microphone and receiver both show a solid blue light.
Step 3: Turn on noise cancelling (recommended)
Press the noise-cancelling button on the microphone once to switch into noise-cancelling mode. When noise cancelling is on, the status light on the microphone turns green. Press it again to turn the feature off.
Hollyland at a glance
| 1,000 ft Range, optimal conditions | 30 hrs Total use with charging case | 10 hrs Per mic, noise cancelling off | 1.5 hrs To fully charge |
Hollyland Lark M2 questions
What is the fuzzy cover for?
It's a windscreen (wind muff). It filters air movement so the mic focuses on voices and picks up less noise from air vents or airflow around it.
How long does it take to fully charge?
About 1.5 hours.

Test your microphone in Denti.AI (all microphones)
Open your audio settings
- Hover over the Denti.AI icon.
- Select the settings wheel.
- In the Settings window, select Audio from the menu on the left.
Check the microphone is selected
Under Microphone, look at the name shown next to the Microphone row. It should show your wireless microphone (for example, “Microphone Wireless”), not your computer's built-in mic.
Run a quick test
- Select Test microphone at the top of the Audio tab.
- Speak into your microphone. The level bars next to the button fill in as it hears you.
No movement in the level bars? Go to Troubleshooting.
Tips for the best results
1. Keep noise cancelling on. It helps block background noise like the office radio, nearby conversations, and sound from phones or TVs.
2. Wear it on your person. Clipping the mic to your clothing gives the best results. Avoid attaching it to the patient chair or overhead light: it will pick up vibrations and movement.
Common questions
Do I need to use both microphones during a session?
No. One microphone is enough. It's designed to clearly capture both the clinician and the patient (or clinician and assistant) in the operatory.
Can I wear one microphone between operatories?
No. Keep each microphone in the operatory where its receiver is connected. This keeps the connection consistent and reliable.
How often should I charge the microphones?
It depends on usage. As a best practice, place the microphones in the charging case at least once a week to keep the battery healthy.
How can we keep microphones from getting mixed up between rooms?
Use a label maker to label each microphone and receiver with its operatory. This keeps things organized and prevents connection issues.

Cleaning & care
✓ Do
- Gently wipe the microphones and charging case with Optim wipes, hydrogen peroxide wipes, or alcohol-based wipes.
- Use a light touch so moisture doesn't get into small openings.
✕ Don't
- Don't use CaviCide. It can be abrasive and wear down components over time.
- Don't oversaturate the metal contact points or the microphone openings.
Proper care keeps your microphones performing consistently and extends their life.
Troubleshooting
For “Mic Muted,” “Mic Not Found,” or “No Sound” messages. Work through these in order.
1. Check the mic and receiver lights (most common issue)
Microphones often get swapped between operatories by accident. Your microphone must match its paired receiver.
- The mic and receiver should show the same solid light color.
- If the mic is solid blue or green but the receiver is blinking, they aren't paired.
- Fix: find the receiver with the matching solid light. Check nearby operatories if you're not sure.
2. The mic shows as “Muted”
If the lights match but the system still shows the mic as muted:
- Turn the mic off, then back on.
- Place the mic back in its charging case for 5 seconds, then take it out.
- Fully close the Scribe app from the taskbar, then reopen it.
3. The mic is “Not Found”
The computer isn't detecting the receiver.
- Make sure the receiver is securely plugged in.
- Try a different USB port, plugged directly into the computer (avoid USB hubs).
- Restart the Scribe app after reconnecting.
Still not found? The USB port or receiver may need to be replaced. Contact support.
4. There's “No Sound”
The mic is detected but isn't picking up audio.
- Make sure the mic isn't muted and is fully charged.
- Check the mic isn't blocked by clothing, hair, or a mask.
- Restart the Scribe app, then restart the computer if needed.
Still not working? If the lights match, the receiver is connected, and you've restarted the app, the workstation may have a pairing or driver issue. A quick support session will fix it: see Contact support below.
