Overview
When you save a Scribe note to your Practice Management System (PMS), Scribe shows a Save Status indicator so you can quickly confirm what has (and hasn’t) been sent to the chart.
This status is shown at multiple levels:
- Per note (each note can have its own save state)
- Per visit (a roll-up view of the visit’s notes)
- In filters (so you can find visits/notes that still need attention)
Note-Level Status
The status indicator on the note helps you confirm the result of the most recent “Save to PMS” action for that note.
Status meanings
- Green checkbox: Saved to PMS
- No icon: Not saved
- Orange clock: Saved previously, then changed - save again to update the PMS
How to use it
- After saving, check the indicator to confirm that the note has been saved to the PMS.
- If the note is not saved (or needs action), you can return to it and save it again once the issue is resolved.
Visit-Level Status
Scribe also shows the visit status so you can understand at a glance whether everything from that visit is already saved to the PMS.
What it means
- The visit status reflects the overall state of notes within that visit.
- If any note from the visit still needs to be saved, the visit status indicates that the visit isn’t fully complete from a PMS-saving standpoint.
Filter by Save Status
You can use the Save Status filter to quickly find visits/notes that need follow-up (for example, anything that isn’t saved yet).
Common ways to use this filter
- End-of-day review: filter to show only items that are not saved, so nothing is missed.
- Front-desk/provider handoff: quickly confirm which visits are fully saved to the chart.
