The Transcript Visibility feature gives you flexible control over when the transcript is displayed during recording and playback. You can toggle it on or off at any time, reducing visual distractions when focusing on patient interaction.
Hide and Show Controls
You can toggle transcript visibility at any time during recording or playback.
When Transcript is Hidden:
- Click the Show transcript button to reveal the transcript
- The waveform and player controls remain fully visible
- Recording continues normally in the background
When Transcript is Visible:
- Click Hide in the transcript header to hide the transcript
- The transcript continues to generate in real time, even when hidden
Understanding the Waveform
The waveform provides real-time visual feedback about your audio input. It's a practical tool for monitoring recording quality without needing to watch the transcript.
What the Waveform Shows:
- Taller bars: Louder input, typically speech close to the microphone
- Smaller bars or near-flat sections: Very low input, silence, or microphone positioned too far away
- No movement during speech: Quick signal to check microphone selection, mute status, or input level settings
Why Hide Transcript?
- Screen Sharing: Keep patient conversations private when presenting your screen to colleagues or during training sessions
- Reduced Distractions: Focus on the patient and audio capture without the moving text
- Privacy-First Workflows: Minimize visible PHI on screen in shared or open office environments
- Audio Quality Focus: Concentrate on monitoring the waveform and mic levels during recording
