1. Bone Level colors update
Green was removed from the color coding in Bone Loss!
Stage I,II,III,IV Bone Loss has been changed to a yellow-orange-red scale to better reflect clinical severity of periodontitis. Green was misleading as a “good” color.
The new color schema is the below with visualizations:
2. Tooth anatomy overlay
The tooth anatomy overlay has been updated and released to make clinical findings easier to see while still helping patients understand what they’re looking at.
What changed:
- Updated anatomy colors for a cleaner, less distracting view
- Reduced visual conflict between anatomy and diagnostic findings
- Improved contrast so findings remain visible when anatomy is enabled
Why it matters:
- Doctors can keep helpful patient-facing anatomy context on screen without losing sight of key findings.
- Patient conversations are easier because the image remains readable and less visually cluttered.
3. Additional Controls
New controls to toggle on and off findings for Apical Lucencies, Caries as well as Bone line style controls were added. Easy to use Keyboard shortcuts were also added based on user feedback.
Bone Line controls
|
|
-Line Width can be adjusted on 3 levels of thickness -Line Style can be switched from solid to dotted -Line Anchors can be toggled on or off to aid patient explanation |
Additional finding toggles
We added more independent controls for finding types so doctors can quickly choose what appears on the image.
We added more independent controls for finding types so doctors can quickly choose what appears on the image.
New / improved controls include:
- Caries
- Apical lucencies / apical lesions
- Bone loss
- Restorations
- Tooth anatomy
- A master control to quickly hide or restore findings
Why it matters:
- Doctors can instantly switch between the raw radiograph and selected AI overlays.
- It’s easier to focus the conversation on one clinical topic at a time.
- The viewer is less cluttered during review and patient education.
Keyboard shortcuts
We added shortcut controls for faster image review.
Available shortcuts:
| Shortcut | Action |
|---|---|
| Spacebar | Hide all findings; press again to restore the previous view |
| C | Toggle caries findings |
| A | Toggle apical lucencies / apical lesions |
| B | Toggle bone loss findings |
| R | Toggle restorations |
| M | Toggle masks on or off |
Why it matters:
- Doctors can control the image without leaving the keyboard.
- The Spacebar shortcut makes it quick to compare the AI overlay with the original radiograph.
- Per-finding shortcuts support a faster, more focused clinical review.
How this helps your workflow
These updates are designed to support three common moments in an imaging review:
-
Clinical review
- Quickly isolate finding types and compare overlays against the original image.
-
Patient explanation
- Use a cleaner anatomy view and selected findings to explain what’s visible on the radiograph.
-
Faster navigation
- Use keyboard shortcuts to hide, restore, or focus findings without extra clicks.
What’s next
Sprint 1 lays the groundwork for more interactive review controls coming in future updates, including on-image finding actions and patient-facing report improvements.
