Microphone is blocked (Mic is blocked)
Desktop

Step 1: Go to Start → Settings or press
"Windows" key + Ion your keyboard. - Step 2: Go to Privacy & Security (or just Privacy in older Windows versions).
- Step 3: Scroll down and select Microphone under App Permissions.
- Step 4: Make sure that Microphone access is set to On.
- Step 5: Scroll down and ensure Let apps access your microphone is also On.
- Step 6: Scroll down and ensure Let desktop apps access your microphone is also On.
Chrome Plugin
You must allow your browser to access your microphone.
- Step 1: Click on the padlock icon next to the URL
- Step 2: Click the toggle in the microphone settings to the On position to enable Denti.AI to access your microphone.
Microphone is muted (Mic is muted)
- Verify system sound settings
- Right-click the Speaker icon in the taskbar → Sound settings → Open Sound settings.
- In Input, make sure your microphone is selected as the Input device
- If the microphone icon shows a single line crossing through it, it's muted. Click the icon to unmute.
- Make sure that Volume is not set to 0. Recommended microphone volume is 75.
- Speak into your microphone and check the Test your microphone section to see if it’s picking up sound. If the bar moves, it means the microphone is working
- Inspect the microphone Itself
- Check the microphone’s battery level to ensure it has a sufficient charge
- Confirm that the microphone is powered on and its volume is appropriately set
- Confirm microphone connection
- Ensure the USB is plugged directly into the desktop (not through the monitor) and that you’re close to the device.
- Make sure the specific USB for your microphone model is connected to the desktop, as each microphone and USB pair are unique.
- For a wireless microphone, check whether it’s properly paired and whether the mic and receiver show a stable connection light or icon (light remains solid and not flashing).
Microphone is not found (Mic not found)
- Verify system sound settings
- Right-click the Speaker icon in the taskbar → Sound settings → Open Sound settings.
- In Input, make sure your microphone is selected as the Input device
- If Input shows "No input device found," then Windows can’t detect any connected or permitted microphone.
- Ensure that input devices are permitted
- In Sound settings scroll down and select All sound devices
- Under Input devices, find and click on the microphone labeled with your device’s name
- In General → Audio click “Allow” button
- If you can’t find the microphone labeled with your device’s name, follow next steps.
- Inspect the microphone Itself
- Check the microphone’s battery level to ensure it has a sufficient charge
- Confirm that the microphone is powered on and its volume is appropriately set
- Confirm microphone connection
- Make sure the specific USB for your microphone model is connected to the desktop, as each microphone and USB pair are unique.
- For a wireless microphone, check whether it’s properly paired and whether the mic and receiver show a stable connection light or icon (light remains solid and not flashing).
